Welcome.

Requirements for Hosting a Credential Examination Site

We are pleased to be able to offer the CHCR exam at locations in addition to the Image Conference.  The goal is to offer this quarterly at locations based on implied interest and meeting necessary minimum requirements for hosting.  Below is an outline of setup and requirements.  Here is how the exam needs to be set up:

Registration for the exam will be through NAHCR and Cross Country University, CCU.  Fees will remain the same, $395 for NAHCR members and $595 for non-NAHCR members.  NAHCR will cover the costs of the CCU proctor including travel, meals, etc.

An exam coordinator must be identified, from the host chapter, who will serve as a liaison to NAHCR, Cross Country University and the exam participants.  This person will be expected to be onsite the day of the exam.  A minimum of 15 participants are needed to host a CHCR exam.

Securing of a computer facility and IT support is the responsibility of the group requesting the exam, but unless there’s a built-in group that is ready to go, 3 months would be a fair enough time to get people to the exam.  Any financial arrangements with the computer facility will be the responsibility of the hosting group as well.  The room setup is as follows.

  • Room needs to be set up classroom style for 20 people max per session
  • 20 desktop computers
  • Each “station” should have a pen & paper
  • Recommend mints at each table with water station at the back of the room
  • Computers must have wired connections with high-speed internet – no wireless
  • Computers have to be desktops with keyboards & mice – no laptops
  • Testing “room” requires a library-like setting.  Should not adjoin rooms being used for other purposes or trafficked hallways with noise and/or distractions.
  • The internet connection should be tested at least an hour prior to the first session to assure it’s working properly.
  • Room should include a head table with internet & power connection and chair for proctor
  • Recommend signage outside the room indicating “Silence Please – Testing in Progress”.
  • IT support should be onsite and available throughout the entire day of testing.
